The Stakeholder Conference “Digital in later life – educational prospects in a national and European context” took place in Berlin on Tuesday 26 February 2019 and was staged in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of the Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Young People (BMFSFJ).

The German government’s current coalition agreement states: “We will not abandon older people in the wake of digitalisation. Access to digital media, using the areas of potential that digitalisation offers and engaging in lifelong learning are all important in terms of keeping older people active for as long as possible. For this reason, continuing training in the area of digitalisation is indispensable. This topic is also becoming increasingly relevant within a European context.

Against this background, around 40 representatives from the fields of policy making, practice and trade and industry met to discuss the theme of digitalisation in later life.
